Yossi Krasnianski - JK Business Solutions

"If you do go down the entrepreneurial path, then as you do, tap into the experience and guidance of those around you, as getting this help is a strength, not a weakness."

1. How is JK Business Solutions different from other management consulting companies?

All business consultants are out to do the same thing—mainly to assist companies in achieving their objectives for efficiency and success. When companies hire me, they get my expertise combined with a sensitivity to frum culture and ideals. I work with a lot of religious companies and business-owners and I understand that everyone has his own way of viewing the world. I am particularly understanding of the mindset employed by entrepreneurs in the frum community. I can speak in a language that they relate to, and this allows them to take the best practices in business and adapt them to suit their needs.

2. What type of services do you offer to companies you work with?

I advise my clients on all matters related to the process of improving or starting a company or organization, from strategy and acquisition to operations or mediation related issues. I also coach and work alongside senior management, demonstrating how to manage staff, communicate effectively, define strategy, pinpoint their strengths and weaknesses, and help them to utilize them those particular qualities to create a focused, goal-oriented company.

3. Why did you decide to go into this business?

Initially, I was a programmer and founded a web-based company for private file sharing. I noticed in my dealings with various companies that many of them, while very strong on the entrepreneurial side, were experiencing challenges on the communication and/or leadership side of business operation. I decided to transition the focus of my work to assist those companies in bridging that gap, and to fix the issue of ineffective and non-communicative management. It was then that I began my involvement in business consulting. I caught my first big break when Verizon hired me to work for one of their executive vice presidents, selecting my services to help turn around the management of some of his key teams.

4. What do you think is the secret to your success?

I would say that my success is the result of various factors. For starters, the methodology I developed and employ is a unique combination of concepts taught and studied in yeshiva. I can attest that those values and methodologies, somewhat surprisingly, work well, and consistently so, when applied to situations we experience within our day-to-day lives.

Furthermore, there’s a degree of empathy and humanity mandated in this field. In order for the strategy to be tailor-made to each company, I need to have a deep understanding of my clients, an appreciation for them and what they do, as well as the sincere desire to see them succeed. I think this is another key component in my work, which drives my success.

5. Did you have a particular obstacle when you started out?

Perhaps my main obstacle or challenge was that I developed my own approach to the Management Consulting that I do. Personally, I did not feel that I could be honest in my work if I was primarily repeating and passing on ideas that I had acquired from various sources. Instead, I strove to present a genuine approach that I believed in and truly felt comfortable with. Ultimately, this created the unique services I offer today, but in the beginning, it proved to be a challenge.

6. What are you currently focusing on?

With the new fiscal year upon us, I’ve been meeting with my clientele of CEOs and team leaders to plan and develop strategy for an improved and successful performance in the coming year ahead.

7. What is the best piece of advice for someone looking to launch a career or business?

In short, I would suggest that one should try and find the path that best suits your strengths. For some, that may be becoming a Shliach, for another, an accountant, a lawyer, a teacher, or an entrepreneur, and so on. Be honest with yourself and take counsel with others. If you do go down the entrepreneurial path, then as you do, tap into the experience and guidance of those around you, as getting this help is a strength, not a weakness.
